are happy to announce a call for participation in
THE STUDENTS’ FORUM “VISIONS FOR WIDER EUROPE”
devoted to the 20th anniversary of the launch by the former President Boris Yeltsin of the
negotiation process between the Russian Federation and the WTO and the forthcoming accession of
Russia to the OECD.
October 14th-16th, 2013, St. Petersburg
The main idea behind the organization of the Students’ Forum “VISIONS FOR WIDER EUROPE” is to offer an opportunity to some 30 BA and MA students from both Russia and EU Member States to gather in St. Petersburg, the truly European city of Russia, to present their views on the process of integrating Russia into the international community epitomized by the accession of the country to the WTO in 2012 and the forthcoming accession to the OECD that have been strongly supported by the European Union, and to discuss the prospects and difficulties laying before the partners as a result of these changes.
The students from EU Member States, St. Petersburg and Moscow interested in participating in the Forum are welcome to apply.
Working language: English.
Language skills: to be able to present a 10-minute report and to participate in the discussion.
Fees: the Organizers of the Forum cover the travel and accommodation for the participants of the Forum.
Application deadline: June 20th, 2013.
The application shall include:
- CV (in English);
- Motivation letter (no more than 300 words in English);
- Short essay (no more than 800 words in English) devoted to either some particular issue in the process of the accession of Russia to the WTO, its membership in the organization and the role that the EU has been playing in the process, or the particular issue of the negotiation process over the accession of Russia to the OECD. The essay shall be the basis for the report the applicant, if accepted to participate, will present during the Forum.
